Hello helix84,

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. In fact I don’t have enough knowledge in
Dspace, but we are using the "Reference" theme. We did not do any customization
(as far as I know). The problem is the following: I was reading the
"structural.xsl" found under the dri2xhtml folder and learnt that:

"This template creates the html document, giving it a head and body. A title
and the CSS style reference
are placed in the html head, while the body is further split into
several divs. The top-level div
directly under html body is called "ds-main". It is further subdivided
into:
"ds-header" - the header div containing title, subtitle, trail and
other front matter
            "ds-body"    - the div containing all the content of the page;
built from the contents of dri:body
"ds-options" - the div with all the navigation and actions; built
from the contents of dri:options
"ds-footer" - optional footer div, containing misc information"

What I noticed when I check the source of the collection page that has the
design issue is that the two divs "ds-options" and "ds-footer" are inside the
"ds-body" div and this should not be the case. Those three divs should be at
the same level. This is what is causing the problem. How can I fix this
problem? What file should I edit? Where can I find the " dri:document template"?

We did not try to upgrade to a newer version 1.8.3, do you recommend it?

Thanks again,

Regards.

Hi Layale,

is this the unmodified Mirage theme or did you make any customizations that
could have possibly broken it?
Did you try upgrading to 1.8.3 or to 3.2 and is the problem still present?
Is the collection looking at empty or does it have any items? If it's empty,
maybe adding items will fix the layout.
Did you enable Discovery or not?

It's hard to know from just your description what's wrong, but a link would
help.

In XSLT, files carry very little meaning. The building unit is a template, so
you're looking for a set of templates that render the collection view. These
are both very generic templates for building things like a table or a list and
specific templates for building e.g.
recent items - as you can see, such templates are often shared by multiple
views, that's why it's not possible to point you to a particular set.

So to find a particular thing you need, take a snippet from HTML (usually an id
attribute works best) and search for it in all xsl files under Mirage/ and
under dri2xhtml-alt/ (because Mirage inherits from it).

BTW this question would be better asked at dspace-tech.
