Hello all, Not sure that this is really the right place for this question...but since I've been seeing a lot of Apache/Tomcat questions lately on the list, I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm wondering if you all are aware of any drawbacks to running Tomcat with SSL rather than Apache with SSL. Currently, I have Tomcat 5 configured to run on :80 and SSL on :443. What are the differences between doing this and running Apache on :80, SSL on :443 and running Tomcat behind Apache? Is anyone aware of performance issues with Dspace (or other Tomcat) applications? The only reason I need SSL is for our Dspace login page which uses LDAP. Are most folks using Apache?
