Make your changes in the source code:
[dspace-source]/dspace/module/jspui/src/main/resources/Messages.properti
es
Then run mvn package from [dspace-source]/dspace.
Then run 'ant update' from
[dspace-source]/dspace/target/dspace-1.5.x-build.dir.
