That's no different from PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, one of which is also required. Xpdf is open source and is available on various Linux flavors, Windoze, MacOSX, Solaris, even OS/2, NetBSD, and VMS. That ought to cover all of the DSpace host platforms out there. See:
