Hey Tim, I should have written back to the list to say my problem had been solved. Mark Diggory helped me safely delete the items with a class he wrote, and I altered, that enabled me to delete these items. The problem was that they belonged to no collection or community. The delete method in the item import class assumes the item is in a collection, and was throwing the error because these did not.
Thanks for offering to help. By the way, I posted a second question to this list yesterday about SWORD. You don't happen to have any ideas on that issue, by any chance. Thanks Tim, Bill On 9/9/11 11:56 AM, "Tim Donohue" <tdono...@duraspace.org> wrote: >Hi Bill, > >I'm curious, what are the details of the NullPointerException which is >thrown when you attempt to delete/withdraw these items from the UI?
