Actually, I think there is a bug where the subject/author count always shows total count instead of just within the collection/community. That's why I had to disable the strengths feature in the first place.

But this is a new bug as the count appears for authors/subjects even after disabling strengths. Thanks. Off the top of my head, I would think clearing the Cocoon cache should help, but if it doesn't try running index-update.
