well now there does not appear to be a situation where subscriber stations can
really hurt anything. Now
let me point out a case where you might want to allow users to link and unlink.
As the system is
currently constructed, For blind users, there is no obvious indication that
zone calls or callsign routes
are making it to their intended destination let alone the intended recipient.
On the other hand if I use
the link, I know my call is going to make it where I want it to go E.G W7MOT.
Now, in order to get my
admins to agree to allow my subscriber station to establish links, I had to
agree to put the node in a
known state at the end of my session There are cases where a need can be
demonstrated for users to be
able to control the link functions of a gateway. Sorry for the waffle folks
just offering food for
thought.
