A different way to send long URLs - popular in Japan for some time and
coming to the rest of the world is something called QR barcodes. You
can encode a fair amount of information, then using an app on your
cellphone (iPhone, Android, etc.) you can extract the information and
access it through your browser, read a document, etc. I have attached a
code to try in this email (if it comes through) for an example. You can
read a little about it at
http://www.mavericklabel.com/articles/mobile-tagging.html - there are
also some nice You Tube videos and Google has an API for generating them
through your web browser.

What would be some cool amateur radio uses?
