First don't use GPS-A. Other DSTAR radios won't be able to see you location.

Then  turn on  RMC and GCA  ONLY  in the dv settings

Make sure "GPS TX mode" is set to GPS, the "GPS Auto TX Timer" is set to off
and the "DV DATA TX" is set to PTT

Go to http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRSCalc.aspx, fill in the blanks and copy the
"Input into TX Message C1:" into your gps message in your radio.

It should work!

You can go to http://aprs.fi/ to see if you are being seen.
