What do RMC and GCA mean?

Do I need to register somewhere for my DSTAR position reports to show up on
findu.fi?

I have already registered as a user on the NJ2DG system and can access
W2DGL.

Thanks & 73,

First don't use GPS-A. Other DSTAR radios won't be able to see you location.

Then turn on RMC and GCA ONLY in the dv settings

Make sure "GPS TX mode" is set to GPS, the "GPS Auto TX Timer" is set to off
and the "DV DATA TX" is set to PTT

Go to http://www.aprs- <http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRSCalc.aspx>
is.net/DPRSCalc.aspx, fill in the blanks and copy the "Input into TX Message
C1:" into your gps message in your radio.

It should work!

You can go to http://aprs. <http://aprs.fi/> fi/ to see if you are being
seen.

The issue is the symbol (or actually the lack of a symbol). The APRS packet
format
!3912.21N08421.72W/
should actually be
!3912.21N/08421.72Ws
where 's' is a character denoting the symbol used for your station. The
symbol is a setable value in the 2820, consists of 2 characters, usually '/'
(between the latitude and longitude) and another character denoting what
symbol to use. If you manually set this up (I am not fully familiar with the
2820 programming) to something other than one of the 2820's predefined
symbols, I am guessing that you tried to use a space or something else that
is not allowed and the 2820 choked on it. Try using one of the predefined
symbols in the 2820 and that should take care of it.
