I'm going to be headed there in the near future for a few days... Although there are many other things to do there, I usually bring along radio gear, that will include D-STAR for the first time this year.
I'm looking to tinker around on W7AES-C or W7AES-B, probably to link to a repeater in Cincinnati "just because I can" to make contact with a few people here, and then drop it. Trying to get a feel for how busy those systems are, and how receptive the locals are to this kind of activity. The wide-coverage stuff out there is "famous" (relative to anything we have out here in 8-land) and it's expensive to maintain, and those who pay should play. I definitely get that -- just trying to get a "barometer" of the D-STAR environment there. While I'm thinking about it...how about the same questions for the systems in Kingman/AZ? -73-
