Nice.. :)
or a copy of tcpdump to try and figure out what they have buggered up this time
around..

Hows this.. I have a vpn from my local server behind my ADSL to my co-lo box.
I have ssh open on my local box, and I have a port on the co-lo box, routed
over the internal vpn to
the local box..

From the outside world.. it can take from 15-25 seconds to establish an ssh
connection to my local
box direct. If I ssh to the local box via the forwarded port on my co-lo box it
*never* takes more
than 8 seconds.

Don't tell me eim is not doing something screwy with tcp packets. I've run
tcpdump on both ends and
watched eim drop on average the 1st 3 SYN packets. Over the VPN (which is kept
alive quite
frequently internally) I never lose a packet.

From point of origin I'm 300ms to the local box, and 300ms to the co-lo box.
The co-lo box is 300ms
to the local box. So origin<->local is 300ms, origin<->co-lo<->local is 600ms,
and it's still at
least twice as fast to establish the connection.

Oh for a reliable interface to the world..

Ok, enough griping from me today.
