I was wondering how much of the heat is a hard drive issue. I just put a
240/512 G3 and an 18 gig drive in my pbook and of course, it runs noticably
warmer than before. But when I spin the hard drive down the machine cools
down considerably. I'm sorry I don't have any of the temperature reading
doodads installed so I can't provide any empirical data. So instead of
sleeping the book I just spin down the drive when not in use, because
sometimes the machine won't wake up when put into full sleep mode.

And I also upgraded to 8.6 and impressed by it's ability to recover from
crashes. I've never really had much success with force-quitting crashed
program and not having to reboot as well, but with 8.6 I've successfully
been able to force-quit crashed programs and recover right back to the
finder.
