I _do_ type on a Duo keyboard all day long, a Duo230 with a rev-F keyboard
to be exact. Personally I find it to be a real pleasure to use. I find
that most modern PC laptop keyboards are not very nice to use 12 hours per
day. The company gave me a Dell Latitude CPx and I've learned to type
quickly and efficiently on it's keyboard but I never have learned to enjoy
it. I've abandoned the Dell for the Duo. It has a much better feel to it.
In response to the original poster's question, a Duo280c is a very nice
machine and is very capable of "writing and emailing" on the road, and a
lot more as well. It will not run bloatware however and most new software
only runs on PPC. If you want to write and have documents be compatible
with others you've written in Word, then perhaps use an older version of
Word which runs on the 68k processor. For email, use a freeware version of
Eudora.
