Jim, et. al., Airlines pressurize the cabins to a much lower altitude than the airplane's actual altitude above mean sea level (failure to do so leads to unpleasant things like hypoxia and death). I don't recall what the standard is (I'm a helicopter pilot -- we get nosebleeds above 500 feet) , but there should be absolutely no problem operating a Titanium at any altitude in a pressurized cabin. I also travel frequently and use my 2400 on tray tables. Depending on the plane and the guy in front of you, ANY laptop may have a space problem. I ordered my Titanium (BTO and maxed out) as soon as the congestion subsided at the Apple Store yesterday. They're saying 30 days from yesterday until I get it. I'm in a PC only company. The first and last Mac they ever bought was my 2400. I currently use it at home, traveling and at the office (along with a B&W G3 which I bought myself for the office because I refuse to use a PC). I'm happily taking a chance on the Titanium and will use it as my primary computer. The G3 will go home to my family. I love my 2400 and will probably sadly give it to some needy colleague here, but I'm VERY excited about this new machine. In a message dated 1/10/2001 13:19:53, "Scolman,Jim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: << Hi, for all of you flyers and the new Powerbook, this is directly from the Apple Specs; Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet Maximum storage altitude: 15,000 feet Maximum shipping altitude: 35,000 feet since most commercial airlines fly at about 30,000+ feet, does this mean you can't USE the new T-PowerBook, but you can SHIP it ? Just a thought for all you that think the tray table size is important.....thanks....JWS >> ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
