I don't know if the disk cache has any affect on the redraw, but one thing that I
believe does eliminate the redraw in most situations is by using a shareware control
panel called WebFree. Its purpose in life is to get rid of all the little animations
and other visual irritations (adds). I have been using it for a long time. It is
quite transparent so I had forgotten I had it installed. Anyway, I just did a test
loading a particular website with and without WebFree installed and using Netscape
4.08 on my duo 280c. It does the irritating redraw without WebFree but does not do
it with WebFree. I may do more testing/experimenting another time. I have to get to
bed now.
