Is there a space between the keyboard and the palm rest? It could just be
that the little guides on the palm rest are not located correctly. It
also sounds like the keyboard scres have worked themselves loose, or
were put in wrong. 

I recommend going to the Mac2400 site and looking at the case opening
instructions. Normally a daunting task, you shouldn't have to go past
the first few steps to find your problem. Once you have the palm rest off
(Requires removal of only two screws) you should be able to see what the
problem is.
