I had this problem the first time I opened the 2400 to install memory. The problem is that the keyboard wasn't placed properly under some small metal tabs on the left side shielding. It's resting on top of the tabs which is why the left side is raised up. You'll have to take the casing off to correct that, otherwise it's not hard to fix.
