ok, i tried that; it shows up in the chooser panel alright, but it doesn't
see the right ports (it sees a modem port and a serial port, but not, as the
other drivers do, a combined modem/printer port). but choosing it still
doesn't work, the printer doesn't do anything - at least when i choose the
sw1200 the printer tries repeatedly to respond during printer identification
(though the duo finally gives up saying the printer's not answering)
I also tried switching apple talk on and off, but that doesn't seem to do
the trick; i've got background printing off, and i'm pretty sure i've
disabled all the modem panels.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is appletalk getting in the way. since i never
network this duo with other computers (though i would like to be able to
send e-mails) could i just get rid of appletalk altogether (or would that
interfere with getting on-line)?
hmm. i'm so not used to actually having problems with a mac....
