Has anyone tried something like the following?

Powerbook 2400 with G3/240, MCE cardbus upgrade
Medium to large internal HD (e.g. Travelstar)
   Carbus Firewire PC card
Typical well-supported DV camera such as VX2000 or PD150
   Final Cut Pro or iMovie

I'm not looking to use a 2400 as a serious DV editing station, but as
an extra machine for quick field capture and rough cutting it would
be fine. But does it work? Is the throughput good enough for
drop-free capture?

Thanks,

Andy Stadler
