Has anyone who has used the Essex Type II to III adapter (for the Road Rocket + other card on 2400) had problems with it?
Mine doesn't seem to work with the Road Rocket setup as described by Peter Liethen. I suspect that the connection isn't being completely made by the Road Rocket to the Essex adapter. The adapter will work if I plug my ethernet card into it (I did this to test it), but the finder crashes at the point in the process when I put the Road Rocket in (note: I AM "kickstarting" cardbus with a Newer Firewire card before putting the RR in. Also, I can successfully use the RR on it's own--that is, using BOTH slots). Any suggestions? How many folks out there are actually using this setup regularly? Shortly after Peter posted his instructions originally (like 9 months ago?), I bought one of the Essex adapters and it never worked. I sent it back and got a working one from them, and I finally got the Road Rocket to work along with an ethernet card. But shortly thereafter, it would only work intermittantly, and I hadn't tried it again until this thread came up. --Brian Kameoka Portland, Oregon ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
