X aside...The two machines can handle all "everyday" computer tasks. Yes, obviously there is a performance gap with the processors. Since my 2400c got fixed, I would never part with it. It's small, light, powerful, and can be had for about $300 nicely loaded. That makes a huge difference to those of us that have limited means.
Besides, the 2400c can handle Yellow Dog Linux. I hear that with a little code tweaking, one can run X apps on YDL...Is this true?
