Toshiba cd drives don't usually work well with apple standard drivers 
- the lacie cd drives were a good example of this - I think you can 
still get a driver (d2) from the lacie site - install that, reboot, 
and the cd drive should pick up. The toast CD reader extension is 
another to try if the lacie one doesn't work...
