This is in regard to Duo2300c with 22MB RAM running OS 8.1 and
installed in a Dock.

According to the Remote Access control panel, my 2300c with 56k
serial modem is achieving a good connection speed (50,667bps).
However, file downloads proceed very slowly (about 10,000bps) as does
loading of web pages.

Internet Explorer 3.1 is the browser. Could the browser be the reason
for the slow speed?

(No, I have not checked it by running a different browser because the
only way to install same would be to download it. I don't have a CD
drive for the DuoDock. I did manage to download WannaBe to my iMac
and then install it via floppy onto the Duo. I was then hoping to use
WannaBe to download iCab, downloading links seem to be "dead" on the
text-only pages of WannaBe.)
