Not sure what you mean about the audio connector, James. IIRC (and this was
done years ago, so forgive me if I'm fuzzy on details....I'll open it up if
anyone needs exact info) I just crimped the proper connector (Molex or
Berg...??) onto a cable and soldered in an old LCIII speaker (little 2"
unit). The Apple Sound Chip likes 32 ohm speakers instead of 8 ohm, so I
salvaged one out of a dead LC.

John, the (black faced) Tosh CD I bought at a "hamfest" (amateur radio) from
a guy selling literally TONS of them....I had purchased 3 or 4, still had the
last one when my 6X external died. I stuck the unit to the top of the
DuoDock with sticky tape to load OS's on several 2300's, but got tired of it
coming loose, etc. Hacked a hole into the front of the Dock (just below the
"lip") to accomodate the drive. It took some cutting , IIRC. Not for the
faint of heart. Whipped up a proper SCSI cable, sacrificed a PeeCee power
supply for the cables (see, PeeCees are good for SOMETHING! <<grin>>) and
fitted it all in place. The CD drive itself is much shorter than a standard
drive, allowing it to fit. Think a standard drive would fit, but power
consumption and space would be issues. Doubt you could have any NuBus card
installed....the short e/net card barely fits as it is.

Just a hardware hack....amazing what you can do with a Dremel cutting tool,
some wire and a good soldering iron.

Cheers;
Andrew
