I was referring to the audio connectors on the CD reader. I was planning on listening to audio CDs with the Duo in the Dock, since I have a nice pair of stereo speakers for it. Since there isn't a connection on the motherboard for the audio signal from the CD reader, I was thinking that I might have to put an eighth inch stereo jack in the side of the machine. That was so I could use a splitter to let the speakers take the signal from both the system audio and the CD reader's audio. Not very elegant, unfortunately, and elegance was what I was hoping for by using the slot loading drive rather than a tray load.
-James >Not sure what you mean about the audio connector, James. IIRC (and this was >done years ago, so forgive me if I'm fuzzy on details....I'll open it up if >anyone needs exact info) I just crimped the proper connector (Molex or >Berg...??) onto a cable and soldered in an old LCIII speaker (little 2" >unit). The Apple Sound Chip likes 32 ohm speakers instead of 8 ohm, so I >salvaged one out of a dead LC. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
