Got me beat on that one!  No, haven't tried to reengineer the logic...mainly 
'cuz I thought the unit would probably not handle anything much faster than 
20% over anyway (support chips).  Lemme know how it goes....and as for the 
comments about swapping chips, it is not that hard to swap them <<if>> you 
have the right gear.  My old Pace desoldering station can handle chips up to 
small CPU size (tho I've never tackled a PPC chip).   I need to USE my 
2300....if killed it, I'd have to replace it and that would probably be an 
IceBook instead of another 2300.  Although, having a 180 mhz Duo DOES sound 
interesting!
