I'm new to OS X running on 2400c. I'm so late because I failed in many
attempts to install. Finally, the version XPostFacto 2.2.1 with 10.1.2
CD get it work.

My config is as stated in the subject with OS 9.1 and X.1.2 in 2
partitions.
I choose 9.1 because the adhoc way to make 2400c to run 9.2 has a lot of
problem.

Besides I have several questions:

1) According to the compatibility list, it says DO NOT update pass
10.1 for 2400c, but I installed 10.1.2, its OK. Anyone know
if one can install the update 10.1.3, 10.1.4, 10.1.5 ?
     Without the XPF ?

2) My 2400c is 2nd hand, the G3/320 has no manual or driver, so I
don't know how to check/set the cache.

And I'm confused. Because the OS X isn't really slow (not fast)
and when I checked the cache status with Apple System Profiler
     (both OS 9.1 and X.1.2),

ASP on X says Backside L2 Cache 256KB
ASP on 9 says External L2 Cache 256KB
                   Backside L2 Cache 0KB

I installed and setup the L2CacheConfig but does not notice any
     speed change.

I installed the PowerLogix G3/G4 Cache Profiler 1.5 on OS 9
     It says

     Backside cache size: Disabled
     Backside cache speed: Disabled
Motherboard cache size: Not present or disabled

     Then I turn on the
     ``Backside cache status''
and ``Enable Backside Cache on Restart'',
the ``Backside cache ratio'' is set to the lowest 107MHz [3:1]
because I have no idea how fast it can be.

reboot in OS 9, has no noticable difference, don't know whether I
     should keep these setting.

Anyone know is L2CacheConfig really necessary in 2400c/G3/320 ?

3) Is sound not supported ? It doesn't sound (except the power on
sound)

4) The XPF FAQ says the Startup Disk CP cannot be used to select between
OS 9 and X, but I can ! I think the FAQ is not up-to-date.

7) I want to back it up before I make further installation, should I use
DiskCopy to make a image and restore it when I had problem ?

5) I have only OS 10.2 upgrade CD, can I use the upgrade CD to install
OS 10.2 ? Directly from 10.1.2 or boot from OS 9 and run the XPF ?

6) About the partition, set 2GB - X.1.2 and 7GB - 9.1 The reason I use
2GB at the beginning of the HD is I'm afraid that 2400c require the
X to be installed into the partition within the first 8GB. Anyone
know this restriction is true for 2400c ?

8) Does the following still not supported in OS 10.2 ?

     Sleep (CPU)
     Sleep (HD)
     Sound
     Dayna PCMCIA CommuniCardE

I tried to browse these question from the forum but got no result.
Thanks.
