This seems to be a (the?) common failure mode for a Type 3. Type 1's and 2's seem to behave the way you would "expect" a battery to- take a minimal charge, even if it's not enough to even get the startup chime. Type 3's become useless bricks. Interestingly, I was recently pleasantly surprised to have a Type 3 which was behaving this way recover after putting it in an external charger. At present, it gets about 90% of the life of my "good" Type 3. That was with the Apple charger. I have someone sending me three dead Type 3's to see how they do with my newly-acquired Lind SuperCharger II. We're curious to see if I was just lucky or if some Type 3's can come back from the dead. Out of curiousity, I wonder what is "different" about a Type 3? The one X-Ray I saw on a Japanese site showed that the cells were in a different physical configuration. Something must explain the difference in behavior, though... <<<john>>> ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
