Thanks Andy

Does it matter if i install 8.6 from a CD on my B/W G3 onto the 2400c in SCSI Disk mode?

I did wonder if my current 2400c PRAM failure might be due to the fact that I installed 8.1 using the aforementioned SCSi Disk mode method.

Maybe the installer puts code into the PRAM suitable only for the machine the Installer is being run on - not the destination volume machine - which in my case is a 2400c.

8.6 is great for that config. More ppc code = faster. You won't notice much
of a ram hit, course that depends on what you do, but for MS office,
internet, light dtp, mp3 it'll work great. Drop in a big HD, they're cheap
now. I've got an 18gb in mine but I want one of those 60 giggers!

Just a quick question (I'm sure it's been asked before - sorry):
 What's the best OS to run on a 2400c 180/ 80MB?

I'm currently on 8.1 but was wondering if 8.6 would start to slow
 things down a tad.

 Thanks for listening!
