Dear Newbie,
        Welcome to the list. I hope it'll help you as much as its helped
me. 2400c/400/128 are very scarce and even scarcer as components - one or
two maxed out machines on EBay in the last six months, two others on the
helpful 2400c website, no components offered individually. (I do think you
can still buy the 128 RAM for $300 or so from the importer.)
2400c/240/80's are much commoner - there's a Japanese one on EBay now - buy
it, swap the keyboard and you're in business.
        I've never run a 400 and yearn for one but until that particular
manna descends from the heavens, my 240 running 7.6.1 boots quicker and
does web searches almost as fast as my iMac450 9.2. I haven't timed them -
the 7.6.1 240 is marginally slower but I'd only abandon it for the 450 if I
knew ahead of time I'd be searching for a couple hours.
