Yep, they're right handy!   I got a pack of Belkin multi-colored ones free 
after rebate one time at CompUSA or Staples or one of those big stores.  Also, 
in a computer parts store in San Jose when I was visiting there, I bought a 
bunch of plastic rings that adjust to appropriate size for wrapping cables.

I don't mind my laptop bag being messy, but you should see the tangle of 
cables and powerstrips on my floor!   I have to tend to it every week lest it get 
out of hand.   ;-)
