Not really. I've had individual batteries exibit this behavior, but when
swapped for a different battery, it worked fine. Also, for new notebooks,
I've saved batteries by going into Open Firmware and entering
'reset-nvram' and 'reset-all', that has saved a couple of batteries for me
as well.
