It doesn't surprise me. These ultraportable devices are very good at giving a good
initial impression....but the longer you use them, the more you realize their faults,
etc. I found this with my Toshiba Portege (which is even lighter [2.7 pounds] and
thinner [0.77 inches] than the vaios)....they are really nifty devices when you first
get them, but the more you try to use them for real work, the more irritating they
become.
Windows is also a major irritant for me....I can basically deal with Windows on the
desktop, but on the ultraportables all of its weaknesses are accented. That is why I
decided to get a PowerBook 2400 (btw, I have a Portege 3015ct with 266 MHz MMX, 64
megs of RAM, external CD-ROM drive and external PC Card MicroTech zip drive for
sale....:)
