Glad to see Dan's problem was the least possible problem.

I stand partially corrected and memory does get foggy. On my recent 2400
woes, I inserted an OS 8 floppy which didn't recognize my HFS+ drives. Being
conservative, I did not update to HFS+ until OS 8.5 and both TT211 and
NDD4xxx had been released as HFS+ compatible. OS 8.1 was that free upgrade
that slipped in between. Hence the error of my recollection. However the
drive in the host computer is very relevant if it is running OS 8 or lower
and is the boot disk (which it will be the first time SCSI mode is tried)
because HFS+ drives will not be mounted or recognized in that case. You get
a "Where have my files gone?" message.
