The 2300c was the first computer for which I developed an
emotional attachment (I've been developing software for more
than 30 years, so a lot of computers passed over the desk
prior to the Duo), and in combination with the Newton made
my consulting life significantly easier. It's a great Mac;
but unfortunately it's too slow for development work these
days and also needs a lot more RAM; so I just got a G3
1999/bronze Powerbook, which is even better I have to say.

However, the 2300 was the first Mac to ship with an IDE
drive; and the Duo Dock II Plus had fallible SCSI and too
weak power supply. A good part of the first few months of
ownership involved a lot of crashing, time in the shop, etc.
Once those problems were worked out, largely by purchasing
Ultradocks and no longer using the full dock, it's been a
great companion. Until a couple of months ago we had two
complete systems; but a thief, bless his heart, stole one,
the insurance money paid for most of the G3.

So if you do decide to buy one, give a yell, our Duo system
is close to being in perfect condition, piles of extras
(need a gazillion AC adapters?).
