You are not alone...
I tried replacing the capacitor over the weekend with no success. The first
attempt seemed promising - I plugged in the power supply and there was no
ticking. Then, I put it back in the dock connected the peripherals, and
tried inserting the duo. The docking motor made a brief grinding noise and
then...ticking...and a few moments later ... poof! Curiosity forced me to
re-open the power supply and I found that my newly installed capacitor had
blown apart.

I went back to Radio Shack, bought a second capacitor, and installed it
only to be greeted by more ticking. I'm going to junk it now and buy a new
power supply.

Is it only me or has anyone else replaced the capacitor and still had a bad
power supply? Was it my imagination or did somebody know a place that
swaps
out the bad for good power supplies for $25? (No disrespect to sponsor).

Thanks.
Jim
