Personally, as an ebay seller and buyer, I feel that the above has no place
on a listserve like this, and is a self-serving attempt to inflate the
price received by the seller.  People on lists like quadlist offer things
for sale to the membership on Mondays, and stuff like the above generally
doesn't occur.  What do other people feel about it?

I have no trouble with people offering items for sale on this list (incl ref. to
auction sites) and if it was an item I really needed I would appreciate the
information. I don't know why you say "self-serving attempt to inflate the
price" -- anyone should get whatever price the market brings. Are you suggesting
that one should accept less than a fair market price by restricting the number
of potential buyers?
