Dear Wei-lang,

>Bali is bery beautiful. But seems to be ruined by hotel industy in a way.
>bery long trip from Americas. Be aware!

I'm not going to the tourist places, I know what you are talking about.
Also, it isn't a long way from Sapporo which is where I live.

>Grab yourself a WETSUIT 3.0. wrap around your baby. Then put it in a bag.
>Presumeably with some padding. HAPPY TRIP!

I'm not intending to take it. I cannot risk losing it. Even though my
data is backed up the PB 2400 is the only portable I have up and running
and having to buy a replacement would be a bit hard right now.

>Just don't sleep it. No matter what the circumstance is. I did that for 1
>day to NY. Bery Nervous in the whole trip. Be aware that pb 24 is a
>"Sleeping Beauty"

Are you suggesting that I kiss it to wake it from sleep? That's a new
one. It didn't say that in the manual.

What I wanted to know is, as I am leaving it/her at home for ten days,
should I shut it/her down or leave it/her in sleep mode? Or isn't it
important? A number of people have answered this and it looks like the
consensus is to shut it off but leave it plugged in. And, unless anyone
knows a reason why not, that is what I intend to do.

I have owned several Macs over a period of nearly ten years but my
favourite by far is the 2400c. I find that I have a tremendous affinity
with this machine. For what I want to do it's close to optimum speed,
it's light enough to carry around and the size is perfect for trains and
planes. What a wonderful design. There is a huge potential market for
this size of machine I am sure - not only in Japan where I live, but
other countries as well. The G3 PB is just a little too big to carry
around and operate in cramped spaces easily. IMHO there is no need to go
to the other extreme of the Vaio and other wafer-portables. Shave a
centimeter or so of thickness off the 2400c, bump it up to a G3 engine,
standard 6~10gigs of Hard Disk and fit it with the iBook screen and
graphics and you would have a perfect machine.

Ho hum.

Yours sincerely,

John Davis
