Well, if it's plugged in, you really can leave it in sleep mode. If it's
not, there's a chance the batteries might run out before you get back
(although it would be interesting to see if they do or not as you'd then
know how long it can last in sleep mode). On the other hand, why not just
shut it down? Waiting for it to boot up once (when you get back) is not a
big deal.
