My 2400 won't charge the battery. It always shows the battery empty and 
the control strip cycles with the three battery status icons: Charging, 
charged with battery in, battery out.

The nearby service center says they think the problem is the internal 
power supply. They want $850(!!!) top fix it. Gee for $850, I could 
replace the whole computer! Yesterday I took the power supply out to 
check for the obvious such as  burned things and blown fuses. (There's 6 
in the power supply board.)

I feel very confident that I am a qualified Powerbook surgeon, but now I 
need a new power supply. Does somebody have a PB 2400 that has been run 
over by a car? Or does somebody know where I can buy a new power supply.
