Hmm... What are you running on the 2300? I have a 2300c that I run with
AppleTalk all the time (either on my network at work or at home) and
AppleTalk doesn't slow it down at all (when I'm on the road, I sometimes
have it on, sometimes off depending on if I remember to turn it off -- but
there's no speed difference). My Duo is running Mac OS 8.5.1 and speed is
pretty good. It's not that much slower than my 7500 which I upgraded to a
604. It's strange that yours is so much slower. What system version are you
running on the 2300, how much RAM does it have, and have you installed a
lot of other extensions? I don't think HD speed is the issue here.
