3com pc card modem (3Com Megahertz Model 3CCM556) works fine on my G3 2400 except the sounds (dial tone, touch tones, voice of robo-operator saying "Enter your calling card number now," "Thank you for using AT&T," or "The number you have dialed is out of service," etc.) is totally garbled. You can't understand a thing. This can be a problem when troubleshooting failed connections from hotels or whatever. Sounds like it is overdriven somehow like the wrong impedance or something. I am using a driver for a different Megahertz model that was already in the system and I can't seem to find what I need on the 3Com site. They have software for it but only for PCees. I bought the modem on Ebay and it is an OEM model thus not supported by 3Com. System is 8.6. Suggestions? Thanks, Pat Hunt ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
