You might try using a clean pencil eraser to clean the contacts then
carefully bend the contacts slightly toward the battery so as to insure that
you are getting good contact with the battery.  You might try to clean the
contacts on the battery, too.  When this happens to me I have the best luck
when I press the inboard side of the battery firmly to seat it.  For some
reason mine has trouble seating only on that side.  (Bad only rarely) Good
