Chris,
The Ricochet works well with 7.6.1 on a duo. I used mine continuously on a
2300 for over a year before the computer was stolen. I'd actually suggest
purchasing the original modem over the newer SE (I don't think the SX flat
modem is available any more), because it will fit perfectly UNDER the duo
with the rear feet flipped down. I found that velcroing it to the back of
the display as they suggest caused the screen to flip open further on its
own because of the extra weight. If your hinges are still pretty stiff you
might not have the same problem.
Other than that, I found that the coverage was a lot better than their map
said it was (at least on the margins), but because it doesn't use cell
technology, you'll have a hard time maintaining a consistent connection
driving for any distance.
