Although not specific to your situation, here's what I read somewhere and
what I have experienced with DiskWarrior:
- Running DiskWarrior *first* will repair/rebuild the directory.
Norton or TechTool can then be applied to fix damaged individual files.
(In my experience, DiskWarrior has so far always successfully rebuilt
the directory whenever I applied it first. But has not always been true
if applied second or third - see next.)
- If Norton or TechTool is applied first, then DiskWarrior may not have
much left to work with since Norton and TechTool may affect (for the
worse) the directory it's trying to fix.
(In my experience, before making DiskWarrior consistently my first line
of attack, one time I ran Norton and then tried DiskWarrior but all was
lost. Another time I ran both TechTool and then Norton and also Disk
First Aid with no luck, finally running DiskWarrior and again couldn't
recover the directory.)
So, I doubt DiskWarrior will help you now -- and in your specific case,
i.e., SCSI disk mode -- but you can always try. Besides which it might be
a good investment to get it now for the next time you need to run a disk
utility.
