Last November I switched from a Olympus (plug: for sale) to a Canon S10, and
the much faster download with a PCMCIA-adapter is painless and very fast. I
do not really envision USB as _much_ more convenient. I should warn you
though: the drive (that is if you have, like me, still the stock 1.2) will
run out of space in no time at all, which happened to me while in Spain. Not
ideal, to say the least. The camera btw is extremely field-worthy and great
except that the default resolution is only 72dpi - something no test of any
camera ever mentions.
