Douglas,

I have a 2400c/240 with 80 megs of RAM upon which I run MacOS 8.6. It
DOESN'T crash. I mean it just doesn't. It's easily the stablest set up
I've ever used, pc or Mac. I've been running 8.6 since it came out. I
restart once a day and I use the PB for between 6 to 12 hours daily. And
did I mention this? It doesn't crash.
But it used to. Why? Because the logic board was shot. Luckily it was
under warranty. Once that was handled, this thing has been perfectly
stable.
Please don't give us this, "True to form," stuff. Your problem could be
the software you are using to send email or a system conflict or the
hardware itself. But the form is that the MacOS is stable. Honestly, I
don't know what all the Linux fuss is about. The Mac OS is fast, really
easy to use, very configurable and it's the first one I've used where I
don't need a nervous Command/S finger. I do stuff which I would never
dream of under early system 7. I write whole documents and THEN save.
Yours sincerely,
John Davis
