I will definitely use your directions if I decide to take it apart, thanks.
The thing is, however, that I can see the battery register when I pop it in.
The control strip module reports 100% charge. However, it does not provide
any power. (It is a brand new battery).

The other thing is that the computer clock does not keep the time either. I
suspect it might the  internal battery (I hope there is one!) -- that also
needs replacement. Do you have any advice on how to put in a new one? and
where to find  a replacement?

I am determined to fix this little computer, piece by piece ;-)
