I like that. I will chime in with my me too. OS 8.6 has been very stable
for me as well. I have been with Mac since MacOS 6.0.3, and I do think
that it is the most stable version I have seen. I always thought the
peskiest problem that plagued the MacOS ever since the arrival of
MultiFinder was Memory leakage. It seemed that even if everything was
running stable eventually memory became so fragmented it was impossible to
continue without doing a restart. This seems to be under very good control
with OS 8.6.
One of the real delights with OS 8.6 is that many applications that had
been broken with other OS releases (mainly OS 8) once again are preforming
very well with OS 8.6. I used Aludus' Digital Darkroom for years, then it
finally stopped working with OS 8.0. I was a very happy camper when I
discovered that Digital Darkroom was once again working very well using OS
8.6.
I use to get a the newest system release very soon after it came out. But
actually right at the moment I feel rather ho-hum about OS 9 and I don't
think I will be moving to it at anytime soon.
